Iranian official meets Shanghai Film Festival CEO

Iranian official Mohammad-Mehdi Heidarian has met the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) Managing Director Fu Wenxia in Iran.

Heidarian, director of Cinema Organization of Iran met the Chinese CEO and a number of her colleagues recently in Tehran, the organization announced on Sunday.

The Iranian official asked the organizers of the SIFF to admit more films from Iran and also to dedicate special sections to Iranian cinema.

Heidarian also said that Iran will do the same thing in regard to the Chinese film and cinema at its international film events.

He also pointed to the Chinese government’s Belt and Road Initiative or the Silk Road Economic Belt and said that his organization is ready to cooperate on the cultural aspects of the route.

Fu, talking for her part, said that the SIFF is eager to boost its ties with Iranian filmmakers.
